COLUMBUS, Ind.–Emergency crews responded to a gas leak in the northern part of Columbus early this morning. Captain Mike Wilson of the Columbus Fire Department says the leak was discovered by firefighters and Vectren technicians near the 5100 block of North Indianapolis Road, leading to the temporary shutdown of the roadway between Lowell and Long Roads.
Just under three hours later, the leak from a regulator station relief valve was brought under control and the roadway was re-opened.
No evacuations were necessary.
