FRANKLIN, Ind.–A high school music teacher was apprehended Tuesday by the Franklin Police Department. Franklin Community Schools superintendent Dr. David Clendening says he was made aware of misconduct allegations against Franklin Community High School assistant choir director Alex Brickens on Monday.
Brickens was immediately suspended from the school system. He was taken into custody by law enforcement the next day and transported to Johnson County Jail, charged with child seduction. The suspect was subsequently released on bail.
Franklin Community High School principal Steve Ahaus sent a letter, via email, to choir parents on Wednesday, commending “Some very courageous students.” He continued, “Students were willing to report what they knew and absolutely did the right thing.”
