COLUMBUS, Ind. – At its Monday meeting, the Columbus City Council approved an appropriation for one-half of the $502,925 that the Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) has determined it needs to fund its plans for the remainder of 2018 and 2019.
The money will be used for the salaries of five paid staff positions and to establish a physical space for the ASAP hub, a referral clearinghouse for clients seeking guidance regarding particular resources as they embark on the recovery process. The hub is to be located within the United Way building at 1531 13th St., and it will have its own entrance. The five paid positions are executive director, operations and communications manager, hub manager, volunteer services manager, and recovery specialist.
ASAP will make a similar presentation to the Bartholomew County Council next week in the effort to secure the other half of the funding.
