COLUMBUS, Ind.—Investigators were called to Columbus Regional Health (CRH) early Thursday morning after a female stabbing victim reported to emergency room personnel that she had jumped from a moving vehicle to escape from her ex-boyfriend.
The sheriff’s office says detectives immediately found visible injuries to the female’s forehead and hands along with a stab wound to her leg. She alleged that Joshua Jones, 35, of St. Paul, attacked her and inflicted the wounds while they were driving. A passerby picked up the victim and delivered her to CRH.
Jones, the suspected aggressor, was apprehended by Decatur County Sheriff’s Office a short time later. After first being taken to Decatur County Hospital to be treated for injuries, he was subsequently charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement. Jones was then extradited to Bartholomew County Jail.
