SEYMOUR, Ind. – Indiana State Police public information officer Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says an over 20-minute vehicle pursuit through three counties culminated in the arrest of a Kentucky man Monday morning.
Indiana State Trooper Andrew Garrett stopped a Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Anthony Glenn, 45, of Louisville, on southbound Interstate 65, near the 48-mile marker in Jackson County, for a traffic infraction at about 7:20 a.m. A check on Glenn revealed that he was wanted on multiple felony warrants in Kentucky for evading police and wanton endangerment. Upon asking Glenn to exit the vehicle, the trooper said the suspect instead took off southbound on I-65. Troopers Gary Thalls and Robert Hutson joined the chase.
The pursuit continued to Scott County where Glenn’s vehicle struck a tire deflation device, but he kept going into Clark County where he eventually lost control of the vehicle near the 16-mile marker. Glenn’s vehicle hit a guardrail, overturned and came to a stop.
The suspect was arrested at the scene before being taken to Scott Memorial Hospital for evaluation. He was transported to Jackson County Jail after his release from the hospital.
Glenn was charged with resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, reckless driving, operating while intoxicated, and the outstanding Kentucky warrants.
