NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Investigators continue to probe Monday’s early morning fire at the Greenbriar Condominium complex, just east of North Vernon in Jennings County. “We don’t know what caused the fire,” says North Vernon Fire Chief Mike Cole, “we are still investigating.” As a result of the blaze, the condos are considered a total loss.
According to Cole, now 30 to 40 people do not have a home. All residents of the housing complex got out safely, although one had to rescued by police.
Among the first responders were the North Vernon Fire Department, the North Vernon Police Department, The Campbell Township Volunteer Fire Department, and the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office.
