FRANKLIN, IN – The Franklin Community Schools announced Wednesday that EnviroForensics, an Indianapolis-based environmental engineering, consulting and remediation design firm, has been hired to conduct more tests for toxins at two Franklin schools. The company will conduct sub-slab vapor and indoor air sampling at Needham Elementary and Webb Elementary schools.
Mayor Barnett supports the actions taken by the school system and encourages additional testing. Since the safety of Franklin citizens remains a top priority, the mayor announced Wednesday that EnviroForensics will also conduct a focused study of vapors in the sewer backfill and sewer pipe in the city right-of-way west of Eastview Drive and in the vicinity of the schools.
EnviroForensics anticipates completing the sampling during the week of March 25. Results will be released when they are available.
