Jackson Co. woman busted for drugs

COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Crothersville woman was arrested in Columbus early Friday morning on five felony drug charges, including dealing heroin. Police allege she had concealed heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine inside her body.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., the Columbus Police Department (CPD) stopped a speeding vehicle near State Road 46 and State Road 11. A CPD canine later alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle. After speaking with the occupants, officers determined that a passenger in the vehicle, Amanda D. Spencer, 38, was in violation of her probation and she was taken into custody.
After she was transported to jail, she supposedly told jail staff that she did had concealed narcotics inside her body. CPD obtained a search warrant and transported the suspect to Columbus Regional Hospital to remove the drugs.
Spencer was remanded to the custody of Bartholomew County Jail on the charges of violation of probation, dealing in heroin, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance.
