COLUMBUS, Ind. – A motorist suffered serious injuries after striking a tree in Columbus early Saturday morning. The Columbus Police Department (CPD) is investigating the crash that occurred around 1:10 a.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Marr Road.
CPD determined that Daniel Armstrong, 46, of Farmersville, Indiana, was traveling northbound on 10th Street when he drove off the roadway and struck a tree. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was later flown by IU Health Lifeline to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for medical treatment.
It is not known at this time if alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident, which remains under investigation by CPD crash reconstructionists.
