INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites you to fish at your local fishing hole at no charge on Saturday, April 20, the first of four Indiana Free Fishing Days this year.
On Free Fishing Days, DNR says Hoosiers can fish public waters and state parks without a fishing license or a salmon/trout stamp. Free Fishing Days are a great opportunity for families to learn to fish together because adults do not need a fishing license on those days. Children 17 and younger do not need a license on any day.
As a part of the Free Fishing Day event, a “Family Learn to Fish” workshop will take place at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Seymour from 9 a.m. to noon. Advance registration is required by calling 812-522-4352, extension 12, or emailing donna_stanley@fws.gov.
