NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Jennings County EMS were called to a residence on Squire Lakes Boulevard, in North Vernon, on Monday evening, on the report of a male being shot. Upon arrival, deputies found Donavon Booker, 23, who had been shot in his upper torso. First aid was given and Booker was transported to St. Vincent/Jennings Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, at around 11:45 a.m., Louisville Metro Police, acting on information provided by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police, conducted a search warrant at an address in Louisville, which resulted in the detention of three individuals including the alleged shooter, Stephon Moore, 30, of Louisville. A fourth person is currently being sought for questioning.
Moore has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder for his involvement in the crime, and is being held in Louisville awaiting extradition.
