COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Continental Drive, in Heritage Heights trailer park, on Tuesday around 6:45 p.m., after a report of an injury-related accident where a car hit a pedestrian. The male juvenile pedestrian was approximately five years old and he sustained serious injuries. The young boy was transported by Lifeline medical helicopter to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis to be treated. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a juvenile female of about 16 years.
The area of the accident scene was closed to traffic for several hours while the initial investigation was being completed. The inquiry to determine the cause of the mishap is ongoing.
