INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – F/Sgt. Tyler Utterback was promoted last week to the rank of Lieutenant to serve as the Field Commander of Enforcement and Investigations for the Indiana State Police (ISP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcing both state and federal regulations on all commercial motor vehicles.
Utterback is a native of Franklin, and a 1985 graduate of Franklin Community High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Franklin College in 1989.
He began his law enforcement career as an ISP trooper in 1994 upon graduation from the 51st Indiana State Police Recruit Academy, and received promotions in 2005, 2006, and 2010.
Lt. Utterback resides with his wife of 23 years, his two sons and a daughter in Johnson County.
