COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2019 Columbus Public Safety Academy. This program gives participants a “behind the scenes” look at law enforcement and public safety in columbus and Bartholomew County.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet with officers from police specialty units such as SWAT, Bomb Squad, Detectives, and K-9 to learn how they help keep Columbus safe. Also included, participants will get to partake in a ride along with an officer, tour the dispatch center and jail, and spend an evening learning about fire safety with the Columbus Fire Department.
The course begins August 8th, and participants must be at least 18 years old. Sign up can be found here.
