COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Council met Tuesday evening and approved a $38,492 grant from the state of Indiana to the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council that will be distributed to a number of area organizations working in three areas: education and prevention, justice, and treatment.
Recipients include the sheriff’s office and court services, as well as the Healthy Community Initiatives, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, and programs at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Community Church of Columbus.
In other business, the council approved a $35,000 expenditure for a software package from VIP Analytics, requested by county auditor Pia O’Connor, to increase the efficiency of generating budget-related documents for the county.
