
Update: COLUMBUS, Ind. – A body, discovered in a lake at CERAland Park on Tuesday, was identified on Thursday as that of Timothy C. Duckworth, age 22, of Columbus, according to Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting. Duckworth was the subject of a Silver Alert issued May 4 by Columbus Police Department.
A forensic autopsy was performed Thursday in Columbus, the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team continues to investigate the death.
Original Story – The Columbus Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, is conducting a death investigation after a body was found in a lake at CERAland Park on Tuesday morning. Officers were notified that a person was floating in a CERAland Park lake at around 11:20 a.m. The deceased person has yet to be identified.
The Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team conducting the inquiry is made up of the Columbus Police Department, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ten days ago, a 22-year-old Columbus man went missing and was last seen at CERAland. Authorities are investigating the obvious connection, but there has been no determination at this time.
