COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a local man on several charges after a traffic accident Saturday afternoon on Central Avenue. Officers responded to a report of an impaired driver on Central Avenue, near 25th Street, at around 3 p.m.
While searching for the car, CPD reported a road sign knocked over and vehicle debris in the roadway on Central Avenue, near Rocky Ford Road. Law enforcement later located the vehicle and identified the driver as Clint Noble, 32, of Columbus.
Officers said that Noble’s speech was slurred, and he had difficulty locating his driver’s license. Upon completion of field sobriety tests, the suspect supposedly agreed to submit to a blood draw at the Columbus Regional Health (CRH). While searching him prior to transporting him to the hospital, police also allegedly found heroin in Noble’s clothing.
After his release from CRH, he was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail. Noble was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of heroin, and leaving the scene of an accident.
