
COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety handled a variety of business at its Tuesday morning meeting, which included awarding the contract for extending Poshard Drive at the Airpark to Best Excavating, which was the low bidder at just over $414,000.
The board took under advisement three bids for supplying the department with a pickup truck. Ford of Columbus LLC, Country Chevrolet, and Bob Poynter of Columbus all submitted proposals in the $42,000 range.
Amber Porter was appointed to the Columbus Plan Commission. She was previously a project manager at Strand Associates. Porter will be sworn in at the next meeting.
The board also gave its go-ahead to Phase 3 of the “Oak Ridge at Tipton Lakes” subdivision. The neighborhood is located along Carr Hill Road, near Champion Drive. Phase 3 will add 14 new lots to the development, bringing the total number of lots to 42.
