COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers announced that Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy Robert Cooper graduated from the 217th class of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) on Saturday, May 18.
Due to Cooper’s display of leadership, his peers at ILEA nominated him for the prestigious Joshua Chamberlin Award. The commendation is named in honor of Joshua Chamberlain, an American college professor from the state of Maine, who volunteered to join the Union Army during the Civil War.
“I am extremely proud of deputy Cooper for his hard work and dedication.” said Sheriff Myers.
