COLUMBUS, Ind. – Cummins Inc. will celebrate its 100th anniversary today in downtown Columbus. The party is open to Cummins employees, family, and retirees, and is expected to draw thousands.
The diesel giant will takeover Mill Race Park and many streets in the downtown area, between the park and Jackson Street, will be closed. The weekly Farmer’s Market that is normally held in the Cummins parking lot between Brown and Lindsey Streets, has been moved to Columbus City Hall.
The company was founded in Columbus in 1919 with only four employees, and today that number has grown to over 58,000.
