COLUMBUS, Ind. – One in nine people over 65 years of age have dementia, and about one-half of people over 85 have some form of the disease, including Alzheimer’s. In response to that escalating statistic, Thrive Alliance is leading the charge to create dementia-friendly communities across Bartholomew County.
On Friday, June 21, Thrive Alliance will be offering information sessions to anyone interested in learning how to become a “Dementia Friend” and what they can do to make the community more dementia friendly.
Sessions will be offered at the Thrive Alliance offices, in the Doug Otto United Way Center at the following times:
9 to 10:30 a.m.
1 to 2:30 p.m.
6 to 7:30 p.m.
