VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County Sheriff Office deputies responded to a possible overdose near the old school in Vernon on Monday evening. When they arrived on scene, they found Nicholas Barlow, 24, of North Vernon, standing near a vehicle. He appeared to be alert and conscious.
Upon further investigation, deputies say they observed a bag containing about 2.5 grams of a crystal substance in the suspect’s passenger seat. He was later checked by Jennings County EMS at the scene but refused treatment.
Barlow was arrested and transported to Jennings County Jail with a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine.
