COLUMBUS, Ind. – Deputies from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) were busy Tuesday as they responded to two different rollover accidents. Both lead to minor injuries.
The first accident was reported around 6 p.m., in the 2000 block of North County Road 325W. Officers found a vehicle upside down on the east side of the road that appeared to have rolled over multiple times. The driver, a 33-year-old female from Columbus, was flown to Methodist Hospital by Lifeline, and two juvenile passengers were transported to Columbus Regional Health for minor injuries.
According to BCSO, the initial investigations shows that the vehicle was headed northbound when, for an unkown reason, it left the roadway. Then it appears that the driver possibly overcorrected causing the vehicle to leave the roadway a second time and overturn. The condition of the driver is unknown at this time.
Later in the evening, deputies responded to single-vehicle crash on Southern Crossing at County Road 150E. Law enforcement said a Jeep Wrangler appeared to have roll-over damage.
The driver was a 27 year-old Columbus man, and he was also transported to the Methodist Hospital by Lifeline. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was uninjured. The cause of the wreck remains under investigation, and the condition of the driver is not known.
