NASHVILLE, Ind. – The campgrounds, cabins, and Abe Martin Lodge have reopened at Brown County State Park. Portions of the park have been closed because of water issues from heavy rains a week ago.
Since the storms have stopped, some areas of the park have steadily restarted their operations. A team of DNR and IDEM staff and consultants has been working together trying to get the park back to full function mode. However, some portions of the park are still not open.
A few horse trails and mountain bike trails are still being assessed for storm damage, and remain closed. There are also a few hiking trails that have not yet reopened.
