COLUMBUS, Ind. – The recently formed Columbus Indiana Slowpitch Softball Hall of Fame (CISSHOF) committee met Saturday and chose the inaugural inductees for the Class of 2019 Hall of Fame. Committee president Jerry Cox said a total of 13 individuals and one corporation were selected to represent the intital class at an induction ceremony and dinner in November.
The CISSHOF Class of 2019 includes Ray Anderson, Maria Stack, Phil Pickins, Russell Wilhoit, Bobby Wissman, Ed Stillinger, and Dewey Whitis.
Special inductees named were Jim Wells, Lou Giovinini, Rob Roop, and Fred Lawson. Roop and Lawson were recently inducted into the state Hall of Fame.
Announced as Lifetime Achievement Award recipients were Rod Eliot, Doug Webb, and the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
Cox congratulates all those selected this year and reminds hopefuls that “If you were nominated but did not get selected this year, your nomination form will automatically roll over to 2020.”
