COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of North Huffer Road, near Newbern, on Saturday, July 6.
After arriving at the house, deputies began speaking to Kimberly Swindell, 55, of Indianapolis, and while talking with her they said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and allegedly found a controlled substance in her possession. Swindell, who was wearing a bathing suit at the time of the incident, reportedly took off a part of it and threw it at the officers.
She was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of battery on a public official and possession of a controlled substance.
