COLUMBUS, Ind. – Authorities at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) say a deputy responded to a disturbance at the Sunnybrooke Mobile Home Park around 5 a.m., on Thursday, July 4.
Upon arrival, the female law enforcement officer found a male subject identified as Kevin Ferrell, 20, of Elizabethtown. The deputy says the man seemed to be intoxicated. When she tried to detain him he allegedly resisted, struck the deputy. and spat on her. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail.
Ferrell was arrested on preliminary charges of battery on a public safety official, illegal consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, and resisting law enforcement. BCSO says he has since been released.
