COLUMBUS, Ind. – During Monday’s Bartholomew County Commissioners meeting, the commissioners voted to approve an ordinance that has remained the same since 1987. In an attempt to cut down on the number of violations throughout the county, fees are now going to be increased for pet owners who commit violations. The new ordinance gives owners who receive a violation five business days to make their payment to the Treasurer’s Office, or they will have to appear in court.
Also during the meeting, IT Director Scott Mayes presented the once per month data board items which were ratified by the commissioners. The holiday schedule for the next year was finalized, which gives the county 15 holidays, down from 22 such days in previous years.
