COLUMBUS, Ind. – Jayden Campbell, 20, of Columbus, was arrested on gun and drug charges by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) after trying to evade law enforcement on his motorcycle on Monday.
Officers tried to execute a traffic stop on Campbell, near State and Brooks Streets before he sped up in an attempt to flee. CPD eventually came upon his motorcycle which was wrecked near Fodrea Elementary School in an alley near Brooks Street and Kentucky Avenue. Police searched the bike and allegedly found a loaded handgun with the serial number removed, and methamphetamine.
Not too long after, the suspect was located on South Hinman Street where he was taken into custody. Campbell is facing six different preliminary charges, including possession of methamphetamine and obliterating identifying marks on a handgun.
