FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin Community Schools is proud to announce that Principal Cheryl Moran was recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) on Monday.
She was nominated by Webb Elementary behavior interventionist Spencer Hessman, who is currently on military leave. He wanted to recognize her efforts to support him while he was away on active duty. Moran encouraged teachers and students to take turns sending Hessman letters, pictures, anything to remind him of home and that he was not forgotten.
“Spencer Hessman is part of the Webb Family and the family of Franklin Community Schools. Spencer shared that being away from school and away from the students he worked with would be very hard,” Moran said.
