COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) took advantage of the beautiful weather on Wednesday and hosted the annual “Hook a Kid on Fishing” event. The day brought out young people in the community to fish from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dozens of kids were able to enjoy the day and catch fish for the first time with CPD officers.
“This is huge for us,” said officer Julie Quesenberry. “Today we get to show up, have fun with the youth of our community, and reel in some bass. It’s just a fun day, what else could you want?”
CPD says the event was hosted by Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing and sponsored by the westside Columbus Walmart, Texas Roadhouse, Circle K, Rural King, FOP Lodge #89, and the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Columbus.
