COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Council met Monday evening and members were each presented with a binder containing pertinent information pertaining to the 2020 budget. It included an executive overview, schedule for county department heads to meet with the council to discuss budget requests, an analytics report, and a comparison of the 2019 budget to the 2020 proposal.
The executive summary opened with an assurance that “we have ample revenue for all requests.”
Councilmember Laura DeDominic cautioned that the nation is ten years into its current economic expansion and that it will not go on in perpetuity, so the tax revenue that the county currently enjoys ought to be considered prudently.
