BROWNSTOWN, Ind. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received information last June about two separate burglaries that occurred in rural Hamilton Township. Deputies obtained a warrant and were able to search the area where they believed the stolen items had been taken to be stored and they found multiple stolen items from the supposed burglaries. All of the property was taken to the sheriff’s office to be processed.
About a month ago the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it received information from the Indiana State Laboratory about evidence collected at the scene of the burglary which apparently determined the suspect as being Jonathan Godsey, 32, of Seymour.
While patrolling Hamilton Township on Wednesday, September 4, Sheriff Rick Meyer saw Godsey driving in the area and pulled him over. Godsey was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail on two charges of burglary and possession of the stolen property.
