SCOTTSBURG, Ind. – A 15-year-old Scottsburg High School student was arrested on Monday after he allegedly called in a bomb threat to the school.
Authorities at the Indiana State Police (ISP) say school authorities were alerted to a possible bomb threat around 9:45 a.m. when a student received a text stating a bomb had been placed in a locker. School officials immediately evacuated the building and alerted police. After bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building, police determined that the threat was a hoax.
Later, ISP and school resource officers say they were able to link the text message to a student at Scottsburg High School. The male juvenile was questioned by authorities and as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and taken to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
