
COLUMBUS, Ind. – Legal Aid has announced a Free Legal Aid Clinic coming to Bartholomew County on Monday, September 23, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Legal Aid Office in the United Way Center, 1531 13th Street, in Columbus.
The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Program utilizes local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations for the provision of legal advice and assistance in furtherance of equal access to justice within the community. It is meant for low-income individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
Residents coming to the Free Legal Aid Clinic in Bartholomew County can expect to receive a 10-minute consultation with a lawyer who will answer general questions, offer legal information, or give other limited assistance or advice on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no need to register in advance.
