NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested Kristen Smiley, 44, of North Vernon, on Friday after law enforcement personnel say they found drugs and paraphernalia inside his car.
Police learned of an outstanding warrant issued for Smiley stemming from a multi-month investigation where the suspect allegedly attempted to solicit sexual contact from a person under the age of 15. Smiley was located Friday evening driving his car in North Vernon where he was pulled over by NVPD and taken into custody.
Later, his vehicle was searched, and officers say they found 56 grams of meth, 176 grams of marijuana, three vials of a prescription-only steroid, a digital scale, syringes, packaging materials, paraphernalia, and. $4,420 in cash.
Smiley faces felony charges of dealing in a controlled substance, dealing in meth, dealing in marijuana, possession of a syringe, obstruction of justice, and the warrant for solicitation of a minor.
