COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus City Council met Tuesday night and discussed details involving the railroad overpass that is likely coming to the city.
Last week was the deadline for bids on the overpass, and the total cost appears to be about $35.3 million, but the expense will be split evenly with the state of Indiana.
The council then voted to authorize the Columbus Redevelopment Commission to transfer $4.6 million into the city’s railroad overpass fund, which will be used to pay for part of the overpass at a later date.
