NORTH VERNON, Ind. – North Vernon Municipal Utilities has announced that, due to an abnormally dry period this year, mandatory water conservation is in effect.
Residents are requested to refrain from watering grass and plants, washing vehicles, power washing, and filling hot tubs and pools. If homeowners have a known leak on their property, they are asked to fix it immediately.
The utility company says that residents will be fined a minimum of $50 per offense, and unnecessary water use could lead to disconnection.
