NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested Dustin Stump and Matthew Farlin on Tuesday after they fled from a traffic stop and abandoned the stolen vehicle they were in.
NVPD noticed a Jeep Cherokee with an equipment violation and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. When police made contact with the driver, the suspects supposedly sped away. Officers chased them and eventually located both men as they were running across a street. The duo was stopped and detained. Items in their possession allegedly linked them to the jeep which had been reported stolen from Michigan.
Stump and Farlin were arrested on multiple preliminary charges including resisting law enforcement, possession of a stolen vehicle, and criminal mischief.
