COLUMBUS, Ind. – Healthy Communities, ASAP, the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, and Columbus North High School student Sveni Thalor are presenting another Drug Take-Back day for Bartholomew County. It is an opportunity to prevent abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous, expired, or unused prescription drugs.
Old drugs can be taken to the United Way Center on 13th Street, in Columbus, on Saturday, October 26, for drop off and proper disposal. Thalor’s senior project aims to decrease the availability of prescription medications and provide environmentally safe drug disposal options.
Participants in the Drug Take-Back Day also get a home disposal kit provided by DisposeRX. The first 50 people who show up receive a $5 gift card that can be redeemed at local businesses.
