COLUMBUS, Ind. – Local law enforcement arrested six people on Monday during a narcotics investigation involving drug activity at a Columbus residence.
Officers from the Columbus Police Department Intelligence Led Policing Unit conducted a traffic stop near 7th Street and Central Avenue and arrested Elizabeth Burton, 32, of Columbus, after supposedly finding meth and a controlled substance in the car.
Police also arrested Christopher Tays, 32, of Franklin, on several charges including two local warrants after his vehicle was stopped near 17th Street and Gladstone Avenue. Marijuana was allegedly found in his car.
A short time later, police pulled over Jonathan Blair, 29, of Columbus. He and passengers, Ryan Hollman and Victor Burton, were all arrested after they reportedly found 30 grams of meth inside.
Investigators then executed a search warrant on a detached garage behind 2134 Caldwell Place. During the search, they allegedly located meth, heroin, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and narcotics packaging material. The resident of the address, Christopher Battin, was arrested.
All persons that were involved with the case were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where they were remanded on multiple preliminary charges that included variations of drug possession.
