COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) conducted a traffic stop on Monday, at 11th and Franklin Streets, where the passenger in a vehicle, Rebecca Roberts, 50, of Columbus, was found to have an outstanding parole warrant.
A K-9 on the scene supposedly alerted to the presence of narcotics, but none were located inside the car. Deputies say that when Roberts was asked if she had any drugs in her possession, she did not respond. After being told that she would go through the county jail’s body scanners, she allegedly admitted that she had methamphetamine and marijuana hidden inside a body cavity.
Following clearance from Columbus Regional Health, Roberts was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of an outstanding warrant, possession of meth, and possession of marijuana.
