FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to call of a stolen car being driven along State Road 37 on Saturday. The Chevy Impala was reportedly seen passing vehicles while driving along the shoulder.
The car went through the back yard of a home, damaging the yard and a fence. Deputies pursued the Impala on County Road 500W, but the driver allegedly refused to pull over and continued to drive recklessly avoiding stop signs and passing vehicles without signaling.
The chase continued on to County Road 500N and eventually ended just before reaching State Road 135. A Whiteland police officer assisted in stopping the car.
The driver was identified as Jacob Rieman, who was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail. Rieman is facing preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, driving while suspended, leaving the scene of property damage accident, and a false identifying statement.
