FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett announced on Monday that Matt Culp was selected as the new Chief of Fire for the city of Franklin. There were six candidates considered for the position.
Mayor Barnett spoke about the hiring, “The city had some very qualified individuals apply for the position. Ultimately, Culp’s 23 years of experience combined with the direction/vision he has planned for the future made him my top choice.”
Culp currently serves as the Captain of the Franklin Fire Department and will transition into his new role on January 1, 2020. “It was an honor to be included in the application process and unbelievably humbling to be chosen to lead the department,” stated Culp.
The mayor also announced that Justin Lollar will serve as Deputy Chief of Fire for the department.
