SEYMOUR, Ind. – A Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was stopped along the side of Interstate 65 on Saturday when he saw another vehicle pull up behind him and park.
A man, later identified as Justin Nugent, 41, of Seymour, exited the vehicle and began walking along the side of the road where the officer says he was almost hit by several cars. The suspect supposedly tried to escape deputies while they were trying to apprehend him.
Nugent was eventually arrested, taken to Jackson County Jail, and booked on charges of resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and battery on a law enforcement officer.
