COLUMBUS, Ind. – The winter weather is creating havoc in some areas of south-central Indiana. Several accidents have been reported in Bartholomew, Jackson, and Johnson Counties since Sunday evening.
At 3:40 today, Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers reported that most county roads are snow-covered and slick. He pleads to be careful driving and to take extra time to get to your destination. The Columbus Police Department says the main streets in the city are in good condition but to watch for slick spots.
As of 6 a.m., the school situation is as follows. Brown County Schools are closed. Jennings County, Edinburgh Community, Franklin Community, Greenwood Community, Decatur Community, Greensburg Community, Shelbyville, and Southwestern Shelby schools are all on a two-hour delay.
