FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office says Steven Wagers, 36, was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison for a spree of felonies in 2018 and 2019.
The incidents reportedly began on October 25, 2018, when Wagers was found in the driveway of a home with no trespassing signs. When questioned by the police he admitted that his vehicle was filled with items stolen from other cars. The incident resulted in three felony theft convictions and a criminal trespass conviction.
Later in 2018, Wagers was placed on home detention at Progress House to seek drug treatment. However, he violated the arrest terms and left without reporting to the court. He was later caught stealing a vehicle, trying to flee police, trespassing, and possessing methamphetamine.
