COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday in the 900 block of North Dellasburg Road. During the pull-over, a BCSO canine reportedly alerted to the smell of drugs coming from inside the vehicle.
Deputies say that passenger Ronnie Richardson, 47, of Columbus, began exiting the vehicle and dropped a small white bag that they thought to be methamphetamine. Officers later allegedly found four additional bags of suspected meth on him. A small amount of marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia were also supposedly located inside the vehicle in which he was riding.
Richardson was arrested, taken to Bartholomew County Jail, and preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
