JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office on Monday received a report from the Aurora Police Department in reference to a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee that was possibly in the Jennings County area. Deputies say that at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a vehicle matching the description was located near Country Manor and Walnut Grove Lane in Country Squire Lakes.
Law enforcement confirmed it was the stolen Jeep and tailed it to a nearby residence where a male subject exited the vehicle. The driver, Jarede Bonds, 32, of Lawrenceburg, and taken into custody. Deputies allegedly found methamphetamine and marijuana in the Jeep, and the suspect was discovered to be on parole.
A female passenger, Mikayla Cameron, 26, of North Vernon, was also arrested. Authorities at the sheriff’s office say they later determined that Cameron had left her three children with a family member who was unable to provide necessary care for the children.
Bonds is facing preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and auto theft. Cameron was arrested on preliminary charges of auto theft, possession of marijuana, and neglect of a dependent.
