COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Clerk Jay Phelps said in a statement on Thursday that the Bartholomew County Election Board has, “taken measures to ensure that the 2020 Primary continues to move forward regardless of the impact of the virus.”
To protect themselves, Phelps recommends that those with respiratory issues, the elderly, and anyone who has a higher risk of obtaining Coronavirus to vote by mail. To avoid spreading germs, use envelope sealer rather than licking the envelope when mailing your vote.
The Election Board continues to monitor the Coronavirus outbreak as election day nears. If there are outbreaks in the county, Phelps says they may take other actions to protect the public health.
“Lastly, we want you to feel confident in the election process and we want everyone who wishes to vote in this election to be able to cast their ballot. We continue moving forward in a positive manner, and we appreciate your understanding while we mitigate through this health crisis,” said Phelps.
